Architecture has a responsibility to serve society but how this is accomplished is often unclear. One aspect of that responsibility, which is universally acknowledged, is architecture’s consumption of resources. One of the most effective strategies for reducing the impact of architecture on the environment is to build less, make structures smaller. This competition is designed to encourage students to create a living space for two people that is small, movable and beautiful. The design should enrich the residents’ lives.
